Inspired by Jules Ryckebusch’s Facebook post https://www.facebook.com/share/p/17LaXpGKMN/
I recorded at a Cattle Egret (Bubulcus ibis) night roost here in Northern Italy, where I live. I used two ORTF systems built with PUI AOM5024 omnidirectional capsules: one system with the capsules inserted into two small 40 mm diameter 3D-printed spheres; a second system with the two capsules inserted into a straight container made from two casings obtained from a Neutrik phone plug.
Below I’ve included the two audio files in MP3 format. You’ll also find the Specrtograms, the amplitude statistics and frequency analysis images (the analyses are made on the WAV files). All files are 80 Hz High Pass filtered.
I’m counting on your feedback, which I hope will follow, based on the comments on Facebook.
(I apologize for the Italian captions within the images).

Finally, I repositioned the two 40 mm spheres in AB mode, with a distance of 65 cm between the two capsules. This makes the stereo recording with two omnidirectional capsules wider and more pleasant.
